Freshwater Ecosystem

Many freshwater organisms are now threatened with extinction. Freshwater ecosystems are easily affected by human activities and are severely damaged by development and pollution. In addition, recent climate change has caused large changes in the water levels of rivers and lakes, resulting in mass mortality of freshwater organisms.
The only way to prevent the extinction of freshwater organisms is to prevent water pollution and halt climate change. This will require a major impact from government and large corporations, but there are things we can do as individuals as well. We can do this by not wasting water, not dropping garbage in rivers and ponds, and reducing CO2 emissions...even small steps can add up to great power.
