Fireworks are set off on New Year's Eve around the world. The event to celebrate the New Year for people can be deadly birds. The sound and light of fireworks can startle birds as far as 10 kilometers away, prompting them to make an emergency flight. Flocks of birds with poor night vision sometimes panic and crash into trees or buildings, killing large numbers of them. In addition, the flight behavior is a severe strain on the birds' bodies which needs to store energy for the winter.
In order to enjoy fireworks in winter while protecting birds and ecosystems, it is desirable to establish firework-free zones in consideration of the natural environment and to popularize new fireworks shows that make full use of technology such as drones and augmented reality (AR).
Humans are not the only living beings on the earth. We need to carefully consider the survival of other living creatures. Our knowledge and technology have already reached a level where we can do so.
