Blue whales are the largest mammals on earth, growing up to 30 meters in length and weighing up to 200 tons. In recent years, many emaciated blue whales have been spotted in the world's oceans. Blue whales feed on krill, a small crustacean, and it is believed that this is due to the decrease in krill as a food source due to rising ocean temperatures caused by climate change.
The health of giant creatures such as whales is also indicative of the health of their habitat. The blue whales that migrate through the world's oceans are a testament to the crisis facing the Earth's oceans.

The lifespan of a blue whale is approximately 90 years, and can exceed 100 years if they live long enough. However, if climate change continues at its current rate, it is quite possible that blue whales will not be able to live out their lifespan and will starve to extinction.
